After a short beta testing period, we are pleased to present our new homepage layout. This new layout offers you twice the content of the old layout, and less scrolling.

The new layout has added the following….

• Headlines from the Daily Nation & the Jamaica Gleaner
• Quick access to other Caribbean news sources
• Headlines from CNN. BBC and Reuters
• International Sports Headlines
• Shows the source of Featured Articles.
• Quick preview of the GoWEB Blog and Rapture Blog
• Quick access to our user submitted blogs

These new features have been added using a “Tab System”. This just means that instead of cluttering your homepage by displaying all of this content at once, you can simply display the content you want, when you want it, using tabs.

We hope that you enjoy these new features and thank you for using GoWEB.

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability on two new themes called “Blush” and “Glass”. The “Glass” theme was inspired by Windows Vista and we hope you like it.

Introducing the NEW GoWEB NOW Caribbean homepage.

We realize that your lives on the internet don’t revolve around GoWEB. We recognize that a homepage is only as good as the content and services it links you to. We are not like other popular homepages, that are only concerned with giving you easy access to THEIR services. We see, and we hear, the sites and services that Caribbean people use most, and as such, our new layout doesn’t focus on pushing our services at you, but rather at giving you want YOU want. 

Our new layout gives you one-click access to the sites Caribbean people are using the most:- Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Youtube, Hi5, MySpace, FaceBook, WikiPedia and UWI. We give you the news that’s relevant to YOU and even themes to customize the whole experience to fit YOU!

GoWEB NOW is the only homepage for YOU!

GoWEB is pleased to announce that Homepage Themes are back. This feature was initially explored in 2006, but was discontinued until now. We believe that now is the right time in the development of the site, to re-explore unique customization options for our users.

Our themes don’t just change the colour of your homepage but the graphics as well. In order to make this experience more fun for our users, we’ve opened a “Theme Park“, from which you can apply themes.

Go on out and try our themes. We’ve also got instructions on how to make any theme your homepage for multiple browsers. And remember that we are still listening to your feedback, so drop us a comment or email. If you’ve got an idea for a new theme, let us know. Meanwhile, we’ll be busy thinking up some fresh new themes to add to the Theme Park every here and there, just to keep things fresh and interesting.

It’s been a while since we’ve updated the layout of GoWEB, but that time has come again. As of today, we’re taking our new layout for a spin. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new.

• You email services, like hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail can now be found in first column of your homepage. We are calling this column the GoWEB LaunchPad, because it is designed to give you quick access to the sites you use most. 
• The Launch Pad also has links to YouTube and Hi5. We are evaluating the popularity of websites used by Caribbean people for this LaunchPad, which is a work in progress.
• You channels and services are now on the right hand side. Our users use their email more frequently than they do channels, so this change was made in favour of our users. This area also gives the channels and services a more compact design, cutting down on the amount of page scrolling you have to do.
• Our Web Design and Web Hosting services have moved to a new domain. ElohimCreations.org is the new home of these services, along with new ones, like Graphic Design and other multimedia related services. 

If your Windows XP computer seems to be moving a little sluggish, there are a number of small things you can do to help speed it up. Instead of buying new components, try these simple steps first.

1. Turn Off Your Desktop Icons.

Believe it or not, something as displaying icons on your desktop pulls system resources and you can feel the effects if you don’t have much resources to spare. You can turn on or off your desktop icons by right-clicking on any blank area of the desktop, opening the “Arrange Icons By” submenu and then clicking “Show Desktop Icons” to either check or uncheck it.
